These are our favorite places on the island, we hope you enjoy them too.

Winner for Best Margarita and Shrimp Enchiladas and Jacquetta’s Favorite Restaurant:  LaPlaya (White Lightening Marg)

Best Brunch : Black Marlin at Pamilla Beach Golf Course - Shrimp & Grits/Stuffed French Toast/Blackend Red Fish - Chef Gail is no longer here so the quality isnt quite the same but they do still have some of her old dishes and do a good job of them.

Best Mexican Breakfast: Cancun (Charlie swears they have the best pancakes)

​

Best Burgers and Shrimp Tacos: Fins (I also like their garlic fish) 

​

Best Sushi: Blue Water Cowboy (Jordan Bowl is Amazing)

​

Best Gumbo and Crab/Shrimp Boil: Castaways

​

Good Appetizers & Buckets of Rum: Stingrays (also have outdoor games and allow dogs)

​

Best Family Friendly Italian/Seafood: Seafood & Spaghetti Works (save room for the Butterfinger cheesecake…you won’t be disappointed)

Best “Fancy” Pizza: Dylan’s Coal Oven Pizzeria

Best Buffet Pizza: Port A Pizzeria

​

Best Fried Shrimp/Fish and Garlic Fish: Kody’s (super laid-back feel, food is stellar, and the kids can putt-putt too)

Best High-End Meal: (even though you will be paying high end prices at pretty much every restaurant on the island this one is truly worth it) Roosevelt’s – Get a Reservation

Honorable Mentions:

Trout Street – Good solid pick but more of a standard seafood restaurant.

Iries – Hawaiian/Tacos

Lelos- Burgers (fun shuffleboard table)

Coaches – MASSIVE pancakes and biscuits and gravy (moving to a new location) 

Tortuga Saltwater Grill – Good seafood but pretty basic overall feel

Grumbles – This has become one of our go to lunch spots on the island. 

MacDaddys – BBQ and Seafood Options – The Green Chili Fries are the reason to go…other than that share plates because they are BIG.

Other Food Options To Mention:

Tamale Van – These guys have AMAZING tamales and will come to the condo for drop off. Pork and Beef are both good but their Chicken Jalapeno Cream Cheese or Spinach Cream Cheese are both really really good!

IGA has a “Deli” with hot food at very reasonable prices. We like their Fried Chicken and Mac and Cheese for a picnic when we head out fishing.

 

There are many good restaurants on the island these are just our go-to places.
